Why doesn't Guy just make a blacklisted H***y P****r server instead of this. He'd actually get a strong playerbase as everyone just liked to hang out on the H**war*s map. Also people would get their weird jobs back

We possibly would have if we had known at the time that Facepunch would allow it lmao, every bit of content from the old server is gone now anyway

I think the most interesting part of this argument is that the community didn't stick around when this is the most important time for it to do so. Before the takedown it didn't really matter much if another hogwash server went up, but after the takedown it's all people want? Maybe that could be looked into(for example, the default desert map is soul-sucking, the other two maps I've seen- the medieval one and the one with the ballistae- are much better), and maybe some open dialogue with Guy is in order.

I mean, I'm sure he kept the map and most of the models, probably wouldn't be that hard to re-setup the server. Making the blacklisted hogwarts server is really the only hope for this community, doing anything else is just a waste of effort

That's peak stupidity to delete the server for no reason. Hosting fees are basically nothing.  At least keep the server as it was as a backup for this very reason.

I am only assuming, but that's the way it seemed when things went down, only Guy can really give a 100% definitive answer.

Given that we were directly contacted by WB and are explicitly under their radar, there's absolutely no chance that this would be possible, nor would we even dare to attempt it. I can't speak for other communities, but as far as I know and from what I've gathered over the last year, I'm almost certain we were the only ones who were. Maybe they incorrectly assumed we were running/owned all of the servers or something, my best guess. I certainly wasn't going to attempt to pry them of information that they most likely wouldn't have shared anyway. Even with the time that has passed, there are still things, for legal reasons/possibilities, that I can't speak about just yet. Maybe one day I will be able to, just not anytime soon.

Hand me over the files and I will open the server, not like WB would bother to find me in the sand dunes.

Kind regards,

I write this out of love for the server, but at this point in my opinion, since you say that there is no chance of SBS coming back with HWRP and I have no right to tell you what to do with the map and other assets that you own and paid to get developed, and I also don't know the legal aspect on which you are, I feel that you should make the map and other assets of the server public. I mostly don't want other people to take it and make their own knockoff SBS HWRP server for the many people like me that just wanna fly around and cast spells for nostalgic reasons. For my own personal reasons, this is the server that got me into Gmod, and some of my favorite memories are from this server. Again, I don't want you to be in any legal trouble at all, but in my opinion, it is better to make it public for all of the people like me who felt so fondly for the server, and I feel it's better than just letting the map and assets sit and collect dust.

Hey but thanks again for making the sever we all loved so much.
